Birmingham Poetry Scene Hots Up for the Summer

Lizzie Smith from Birmingham poetry scene sends this message to West Midlanders:

"Wrote Under's got a mammoth week of gigs coming up - hope you can make it
to one or two:

THIS SUNDAY - and every last Sunday of the month, the Sunday Xpress at the
Market Tavern, Digbeth - all open mic, anything goes, free roast potatoes
and free entry. 2pm-6pm.

NEXT MONDAY 25th JUNE - as part of Moseley Festival, we're running another
open mic at the Patrick Kavanagh pub, Woodbridge Road in Moseley. 8pm
start, all welcome as ever.

SATURDAY / SUNDAY 30th June / 1st July - we'll have a stall at Moseley
Festival's Music in the Park event, with a performance space attached where
we'll be doing spoken word stuff and whatever else we feel like in between
bands. If there's enough time we'll be happy for anyone else who turns up
to have a go too.

Finally, our night at the Rainbow has moved yet again - from July onwards
we'll be doing our usual open mic anything goes stuff EVERY THIRD THURSDAY
of the month, 8pm onwards.

And just to give you a bit of warning - we're about to publish our first
book, featuring Wrote Under regulars Big Bren, Jimmy Fantastik and Paul
Rafferty - news of launch party to follow so start digging out your
gladrags!"
