Poets' Cafe in Reading, March 2009

Friday 20th March – Poets’ Café at South Street Arts Centre, South Street, Reading, Berkshire. 8pm doors, 8.30pm show. £6/£4.

This month is a special month at Poets’ Café because our special guest is one of our own. Regular and superb supporter Wendy Klein is giving us a special reading from her brand new first collection, Cuba In The Blood (Cinnamon Press, 2009), and since she’s popular, local and a stern task master I suspect this will be a very much jam packed night of poetry. We have ordered extra chairs specially, but you might want to book your ticket in advance to make sure you get in. There is, of course, as much open mic as usual, and I’m your lovely host.

Saturday July 12th
12pm onwards. Free

A.F.Harrold is compering the Cabaret Of Cacophony (which with any luck won’t be as bad as it sounds). We have music and words and all sorts on there, including the wunderkind of the performance poetry world Luke Wright who is almost always often not worth missing.
