Wychwood Festival Pre-Publicity

Wychwood Festival

"Poetry has exploded into this year’s Wychwood Festival. We will be bringing you a luscious line-up of lithe linguistic luvvies. Drop down to the Oak (Muse) tent to have your ears massaged and your neurons fired by our ensemble of wordsmiths. These poetic masters (and mistresses) will be ably herded your way by experienced poets Nick Owen (who’s really a druid) and Helen Gregory, who will be joining in the action throughout the weekend, performing their own poetry and teaching you the secrets of their craft.

During the daytime we are running a series of family focused workshops, facilitated by Gill Owen, Mike Jubb, Nick Owen and Althea Hayton. Nick will also be running several ‘Poetry and Pictures’ workshops and performances. So be prepared for an inside-outside upside-downside re-envisioning of your world. We think this is going to sweep the Myspace world as a new “folk art” everyone can dig into or blow out with.

Wander past the tent in the evening and you will be inexorably drawn into a world where the witty, thought-provoking and downright bizarre reign supreme, as over twenty top performance poets regale you with their words. Where else will you see: Matt Harvey, Kat Francois, Elvis McGonagall, Steve Tasane, Pete Hunter, Julian Ramsay-Wade, Nathan Filer, R C Weslowski, Rachel Pantechnicon, Andrew Woodward, Kate Underwood, Alvin Calzar, Mark Hewitt, David Bridger, Dorian Rex, Ines Langs, Miles Chambers, Peter Wyton, Ian Sills and Ian Horn in one place this summer?

So what are you waiting for? Book that ticket now!"
