mac - Call for Artists: THE FANTASTICAL GARDEN OF EXTRAORDINARY DELIGHTS
"mac (the Midlands Arts Centre in Birmingham) will be undergoing major redevelopment in 2008/9 after which we will have a much improved building and a brand new gallery. Whilst the building is closed we plan to run a celebratory, offsite, outdoor programme within the same geographical area, focusing on the park where we reside. We would like to develop a number of site-responsive commissions and events based on the concept of the ‘Victorian Sideshow’ to take place in Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham, between May and October 2008.
Expressions of interest are particularly sought from individuals working in installation, sound, light, automata, performance, craft, design and architecture.
