Join award-winning
London-based African poets for an exciting and revealing evening of verse and
versatility, as they explore notions of culture, migration, and identity.
Hosted by author and founder of the Brunel University African Poetry Prize,
Bernardine Evaristo MBE, the evening will feature performances from Warsan
Shire, Nick Makoha, Nii Ayikwei Parkes, and Leeto Thale. This event which
launches the 2013 Africa Writes Weekend will be both thought-provoking and
entertaining for lovers of poetry, and those new to the genre.
This event is part of the Africa Writes
festival, taking place at the British Library and organised in partnership with
