NEWSFLASH: Poets on Fire Forum

Due to problems related to the Invision and Zetaboards server, and beyond the control of the board admin, the Poets on Fire forum went offline this weekend without any warning.

I can now confirm that, following a fire and explosion at the server headquarters, our Invisionfree board is now back up and running for the majority of people.

Many apologies for the downtime, folks!

There was a fire at the H1 data center and while no customer servers were damaged, they had to turn off power and backup power for the investigators, and that's why everything is down. They host invisionfree, zetaboards, statcounter and many other clients, so this outage is affecting quite a few boards and services.

The last update stated "We expect to be able to provide initial power to parts of the H1 data center beginning at 5:00 p.m. CDT. At that time, we will begin testing and validating network and power systems, turning on air-conditioning systems and monitoring environmental conditions. We expect this testing to last approximately four hours.

Following this testing, we will begin to power-on customer servers in phases. These are approximate times, and as we know more, we will keep you apprised of the situation."

Hi Anon

Thanks for this; yes, I've been following the situation myself on various admin forums (The Admin Zone etc.) and it seems that a return to normality has been patchy so far, to say the least. Some people are able to access their boards intermittently, others can't.

The latest news from the US appears to be that they're working on some sort of proxy domain name to enable the boards to start functioning again while repairs are still underway at the server headquarters.

So I've taken a chill pill, and am trying not to worry about the impact of this on the POF forum itself.

It's rather stressful, as an admin unable to access my own board, but there's clearly nothing I can do but keep people updated on the repairs and wait it out.

Thanks for stopping by.
