Howling at the Moon
In the dog-eat-dog world of small poetry periodicals, a lot of new magazines don’t make it through their first year. But The Wolf is about to celebrate its fifth birthday. In that time, it’s brought us a primal scream of page-poetry, stage-poetry and punchy reviews. In short, a damn good read.So tonight we salute The Wolf poetry magazine and present five front-runners from their pack: lyrical philosopher Roddy Lumsden, translator par excellence Hafiz Kheir, people-watcher Fiona Curran, one-man whirlwind Niall McDevitt, and the deliciously dark Annie Brechin. Our compère is Mr Wolf himself, editor James Byrne.
Don’t hold back – come along. And be warned: there’s a full moon tonight!
